Our organization added VolunteerMatters a year ago. The program is a snap to use for both administrators and volunteers! Volunteers tell me all the time how much they love the program. The user interface is so easy. We can now centralize all of our volunteer data in one place where staff and volunteers can access that data any time from anywhere. Also, I never worry about losing data. This has greatly improved communications and streamlined administrative tasks.

I cannot say enough about the product support team. They answer questions promptly and bring a wealth of knowledge to each interaction. They are always friendly and have a great deal of patience. They have often gone beyond my expectations to help with my needs.

I manage other systems for work and this interface is extremely clean, intuitive and easy to learn. I’ve trained non-technical users with little effort. We are big fans of the contact management database which we use to manage our membership. There are so many excellent features including the search and filter mechanisms, the volunteers’ ability to self-manage their profile, the import tools, and the tools to help manage membership requirements. 

VolunteerMatters helps to keep our volunteers engaged and involved, keep all of our data centralized, improve communications, streamline administrative tasks, retain existing volunteers, and evens saves us money on administrative resources.

I am a “big fan” after using the system for the past 10 months. Having a centralized resource of contact and biographical information has proven to be invaluable to key administrators in the organization. As the Communications VP, I appreciate the ability to send targeted emails, letters or individual correspondence which the system tracks. The system is incredible and because of it our communications have improved significantly as we can target specific groups of people in the database.

Having all of our “lists” in one place is essential as various committees have needs to distribute mailings or create labels, and I can simply provide committee chairs with the appropriate level of system access so they are able to manage their own process. Prior to this centralization, our data was spread out amongst a dozen or more people, and sometimes we found that key information was inadvertently lost or deleted, creating a significant workload for our volunteers.

What we didn’t anticipate was all the other wonderful benefits that come with VolunteerMatters. We are actively monitoring our membership requirements and are quickly able to pull reports, document specific conversations with members and ascertain the “health” of our membership from the information we are acquiring.

Another unexpected but welcome surprise was in the VolunteerMatters written manuals and training videos on using the system. I have found the system to be very “user-friendly” and whenever there has been a question that the on-line manuals couldn’t answer, I had ready access to their help desk. In a couple situations I needed to pull a report from our database, and the people at their help-desk provided assistance almost instantaneously.

As a volunteer and administrator of VolunteerMatters for our nonprofit organization, I truly appreciate all the features, ease of use, and customer support that is provided.

This truly is a superior product. During the set-up phase, the support team became my new best friend. They walked me through the various processes step by step and were quick to reply whenever I had a question. They made the daunting task of launching a new system extremely manageable for someone who didn’t have much experience in this area. 

The system has helped our organization go virtually paperless! Everything that was once printed and distributed is now available in the password-protected section of our site.

Having the ability to sign up for volunteer opportunities online has reduced the time and effort that was once put forth by the event coordinators. The system keeps track of everyone who has signed up and automatically sends email notifications and reminders. It’s also helpful that members can sign up for a volunteer opportunity from the comfort of their own home at their convenience. They no longer have to be present at a meeting to sign up for an event, thus increasing sign-up rates.

Another much appreciated product is the contact database and the requirements function also allows members to track their own personal progress at their convenience. They no longer have to contact someone else to get an update on their fulfillments. What a time saver for everyone involved!

We have been thrilled with VolunteerMatters and highly recommend the service to other organizations.

Being a volunteer-run, not-for-profit, it is important for us to not only have a suite of products that was easy to use, but also serve as a “one-stop-shop.” Our board members change each year, so having everything we need in one user-friendly back-end is important for us. The service is extremely easy to use, and your customer service is outstanding. We received help with every step of the process. This has been one of the best investments we have ever made.

Sending out e-blasts out to our membership is also unbelievably simple, and can be done with one click of a button. In fact, we’ve been able to eliminate postage costs for our newsletter and membership directory by “going green” and delivering those electronically. That alone has saved us hundreds of dollars this year.

One of the best complements we received was from a new member who moved to the area from Boston, who commented, “I saw your website and thought, ‘Wow-this group is really organized!’”

I would recommend VolunteerMatters to any organization who wants to have ownership of their data and not have to rely on expensive, outside support. It’s a great service that has allowed us to provide an enhanced level of communication with our volunteers.
